TRAINING CAMPS

The Ice Station Valencia provides several hockey camps each year. In addition we host a number of guest camps including Jeff Serowik’s Pro Ambitions Battle Camp. We are committed to providing and hosting only premier programs with a variety of curriculums to fit any hockey player’s skill level or goals.

The following is a list of Hockey Camps being held in 2012 & 2013 at The Ice Station Valencia. Please check back regularly as there may be additional camps offered throughout the year.

Valencia Ice Station Pro Performance Spring Break Hockey Camp
April 2013

This camp is open to all players ages 6-18 and is hosted by PHA and our Junior A Valencia Flyers. Join the Head Coach of The Flyers and several of the players in a 3 day skills camp over spring break. Camp includes daily lunch and a jersey. 2 On ice sessions daily as well as off ice conditioning training. Don’t miss out on a fun way to prepare for the Spring Tournament Season.

Valencia Ice Station Pro Performance Hockey Camp
Summer 2013
This camp runs 5 full days and includes daily lunch and a jersey. Curriculum includes, skating, checking, stick handling and shooting and scrimmages. Off ice drills and conditioning are also part of the daily sessions. Each day skaters will have 2 on ice sessions with professional coaches and members of the Valencia Flyers Junior A Hockey team

PRO AMBITIONS BATTLE CAMP
The signature Pro Ambitions Camp is designed to encompass game simulated battles. Hockey is a series of 1 on 1 battles all over the ice.

Players will leave this camp with awesome skill development, a better understanding of the game and most importantly - knowing how to battle for loose pucks. This is also the curriculum that has been copyrighted/trademarked and sold to many youth hockey organizations nationwide. Pro Ambitions is extremely proud of this unique and necessary conceptual approach to teaching. It is a compilation of the best advice, drills, and game theory from founder & owner Jeff Serowicks career.

This camp is for all levels of players whether you're a Mite or Midget. (It is suggested you have 1 year of active playing under your belt). We are the masters of "Circuit Training" and small area games, the kids are always moving and always being corrected with lots of repetitions in a fun and spirited environment which fosters self confidence and great self esteem. We are very proud to have had over 4000 kids attend one or more of our 300 day/boarding camps across North America last year: We have the best coaches and best drills- at the end of the camp you leave a better player, period. The Battle Camp has proven to be even more effective in training in accordance to the new rule changes in USA hockey. Lastly, players and parents do not shy away from the word "Battle". We teach how to win the battles of hockey safely and effectively respecting the game and opponent.

Valencia Flyers 2^nd Annual Junior & Prep School Showcase Camp

July 12-14, 2013

Join the Valencia Flyers coaching and management staff along with NCAA, USHL, NAHL and BCHL coaches and scouts for a 3 day showcase for players born 1997 to 1993 for the Junior portion and 1998-2000 for the Prep School portion..

This camp features a minimum of 3 games, off ice testing and a Q & A with the coaches and scouts. The Showcase will be an excellent opportunity for you to play against top players, while also showing off your skills in front of scouts and coaches from high-end junior , Prep School and NCAA hockey programs from across the United States.

Performance Hockey Academy Holiday Camp
December 22st – 24th 2012

This camp is open to all players ages 6-18 and is hosted by PHA and our Junior A Valencia Flyers. Join the Head Coach of The Flyers and several of the players in a 3 day skills camp over the Christmas break. Camp includes daily lunch and a jersey. 2 On ice sessions daily as well as off ice conditioning training and the always popular reindeer games. Don’t miss out on a fun way to prepare for the Holiday Tournament Season.

CLINICS AND CLASSES

Ice Station and Performance Hockey Academy’s Power Skating Class is back and better than ever! Every Tuesday @ 6:15 PM we will be hosting a hockey based power skating class instructed by our own Valencia Flyers Head Coach. We have prepared an exciting curriculum to improve your skill and power on skates using proven power skating techniques that have put hundreds of players into the NHL. Whether you are a Pee Wee looking to make the team of your dreams or an Adult player just looking for that extra little edge this class is designed to take you to the next level. Don't miss out on your chance to learn from the best and improve your game.

Full gear is required and you must be an intermediate to advanced skater to participate. Cost is only $249 for 10 sessions or $30 for drop in. SKILLS & STICKHANDLING
Every Tuesday at 5:00 PM is our Skills & Stick Handling Clinic. The skills clinic is coached by the Valencia Flyers Junior A Head Coach. This clinic is designed for players looking to gain an edge & further develop their individual skills. Players will be run through an intensive, fast-paced practice / workout with a curriculum designed to challenge individually the most advanced player. The cost for this clinic is $30 per session and all sessions are 1 hour.

Skating Academy Hockey Classes

CLASS	AGE	REQUIREMENT	SKILLS TAUGHT
”Hockey 101” A free 4 week introduction to ice hockey for new players	All Ages	No skating experience necessary. Equipment provided. Small deposit required for loaner gear.New students only	Basic skating instruction by professional hockey coaches using hockey sticks and pucks. Minimum requirements will be gloves, helmets and shin guards. Saturdays Only-Pond
Beginning Hockey (Wednesday only)	Ages 3 to 5	Must skate without assistance. Helmet and Cage required	Basic skating instruction Wednesdays 5:15
Beginning Hockey Skating Skills	Ages 6 and up	Must be able to skate forward across the ice. Hockey skates, Helmet with cage and gloves required.	Basic forward skating and stick usage (at coach's discretion) Wednesdays 5:45 PM
Beginning Hockey 1	All Ages	First step after Hockey 101. If Hockey 101 is not needed or for player ineligible for Hockey 101 this would be first step. Full gear as above.	Basic forward and back skating. Continuation of station style practice with similar drills. Mondays and Saturdays-Pond
Beginning Hockey 2	All Ages	Player can start here if skating skills are proficient enough. Full gear mandatory	Station style practice with focus on skating and basic hockey systems. Intro to positions and game elements and more advanced drills. Wednesdays and Fridays– Pond
Intermediate Hockey Can also enroll in Little Tykes, and Youth Hockey Clinic to accelerate learning.	All Ages	Same as above. No coach recommendation needed. Full gear mandatory	Station style practice adding more advanced skills. Focus on stops starts and edgework as well as transitions to backward and forward. Wednesdays –Pond and Fridays- Olympic
Advanced Hockey Can also enroll in Little Tykes, and Youth Hockey Clinic to accelerate learning.	All Ages	Players should be able to skate proficiently forward and backward and be able to transition and stop in each direction. Full gear and coach recommendation mandatory.	Focus on skating with more advanced shooting and passing techniques. Basic game rules will be introduced in preparation for league play. Final 2 weks will have 30-minute games played with stoppages for coach instruction. Tuesdays and Saturdays-Pond
Adult Hockey Clinic	Ages 14 and up	Some skating experience. Full gear required	A 60 minute class of Hockey skating skills and stickhandling with Coach Tony. Mondays-Pond
