Ice Station Valencia is proud to once again host the L.A. Kings annual Youth Skills Competition. The Kings Skills Competition is an annual event held at rinks around Southern CA. with the finals being held at Staples Center at the intermission of a Kings game. The competition features three disciplines, the hardest shot, accuracy shooting and fastest skater. Participants are put into groups based on age and will compete against each other in each category with the top 2 finishers from each category in each age bracket advancing to the finals at Staples Center on March 20th 2010.

This year’s event will be held on Friday February 5th 2010 here at Ice Station Valencia. On ice activities will begin at 7:30 PM and conclude by 9:30 PM. As always this event promises to be a lot of fun and a great experience for all of the participants. Last year’s event had over 40 competitors and featured appearances by Kings players Oscar Moller, Peter Harrold, John Zeiller, Wayne Simmonds and former King Brad Norton. All of the players participated in all of the on ice activities, provided some skills instruction and signed autographs for everyone.
